About the Springfield Armory XDS Mod.2 40 S&W 3.3 Single Stack Pistol

Overview

The Springfield XDS Mod.2 40 S&W 3.3 single stack pistol with fiber optic front sight is a purpose-built concealed carry handgun that balances stopping power with shootability. Chambered in .40 S&W, this model delivers the proven terminal performance of the caliber while maintaining the slim profile required for deep concealment. The 3.3-inch barrel keeps the overall length compact, and the fiber optic front sight provides a rapid, high-visibility sight picture in varied lighting conditions. For the shooter who demands a .40 caliber option in a single stack frame, this pistol represents a refined evolution of the original XDS platform.

Features & Specs

Springfield Armory engineered the XDS Mod.2 40 S&W 3.3 single stack pistol with fiber optic front sight to address the specific needs of the defensive shooter. The frame features the Mod.2 generation improvements, including an enhanced grip texture and a more pronounced beavertail for a higher, more controlled hand position. The slide is machined from billet steel and features a durable Melonite finish for corrosion resistance.

• Sights: Fiber optic front sight paired with a low-profile serrated rear sight for fast target acquisition and precise shot placement
• Grip: Springfield Armory’s Mod.2 Grip Zone texture with a low-profile paddle magazine release and an integral trigger safety

• Overall length of 6.3 inches, height of 4.75 inches, and a slim slide width of 0.9 inches for comfortable all-day carry

Who It Is For

The springfield xds mod.2 40 s&w 3.3 single stack pistol with fiber optic front sight is designed for the experienced concealed carrier who prefers the .40 S&W cartridge for its balance of capacity and energy. This pistol suits the shooter who carries appendix, inside the waistband, or in a pocket holster and requires a firearm that does not print through clothing. It is also appropriate for the law enforcement officer seeking an off-duty or backup weapon that shares manual of arms with larger service pistols. The fiber optic front sight makes this an excellent choice for shooters who train under low-light conditions or who want the fastest possible front sight acquisition during defensive drills.

• Private citizens with a valid concealed carry permit who prioritize a slim, single stack .40 caliber platform
• Security professionals or armed citizens who train regularly and demand a durable, corrosion-resistant finish
• Shooters who want a pistol that fits smaller hands without sacrificing the recoil management of a full-size frame
