About the Springfield Armory 1911 Emissary 45 ACP Full-Size Pistol

Overview

The Springfield 1911 Emissary 45 ACP full-size pistol with VZ G10 grips represents a deliberate fusion of modern tactical engineering and classic 1911 platform reliability. Manufactured by Springfield Armory, this full-size pistol is built on a forged carbon steel frame and slide, featuring a black Armory Kote finish that provides corrosion resistance and durability under sustained use. The Emissary line is designed for shooters who require a duty-grade sidearm with enhanced ergonomics and precision-fit components. The inclusion of VZ G10 grips ensures a positive purchase under wet or dynamic conditions, while the 5-inch stainless steel match-grade barrel contributes to consistent accuracy at defensive and competition distances.

Features & Specs

This springfield 1911 emissary 45 acp full-size pistol with vz g10 grips is equipped with a forged slide that features aggressive front and rear serrations for positive manipulation under stress. The frame incorporates a Picatinny accessory rail for mounting lights or lasers, and the trigger system utilizes a solid aluminum trigger with a lightweight skeletonized design for a crisp break and reduced lock time. The pistol ships with two 7-round magazines and a paddle-style holster is not included.

• Barrel and Action: 5-inch stainless steel match-grade barrel, single-action trigger with 4-5 pound pull weight, series 70 firing system without a firing pin safety block for a cleaner trigger feel.
• Grips and Controls: VZ G10 grips in a diamond texture pattern, extended beavertail grip safety with a memory bump, oversized magazine release, and an ambidextrous thumb safety.
• Sight System: Tactical rack front sight with a red fiber optic insert, low-profile combat rear sight with a serrated face to reduce glare, both dovetailed into the slide.

Who It's For

The springfield 1911 emissary 45 acp full-size pistol with vz g10 grips is intended for the experienced shooter who demands a 1911 platform with upgraded componentry straight from the factory. This pistol suits competitive shooters participating in USPSA Single Stack or IDPA divisions, as well as law enforcement or security professionals who require a full-size service pistol with a crisp trigger and high-visibility sight system. Enthusiasts who appreciate the 1911 ergonomics but want modern features such as an accessory rail and enhanced grip texture will find this model a practical choice. It is not recommended for novice shooters due to the single-action trigger and manual safety manipulation requirements.
