About the Rossi R92 Carbine 357 Magnum Rifle

The Rossi R92 Carbine 357 Magnum Rifle with 20 inch barrel and gray laminate stock is a lever-action repeater built for shooters who demand reliability in a classic platform. Chambered in .357 Magnum, this rifle also accepts .38 Special rounds, offering flexibility for range practice, hunting, or recreational shooting. The 20-inch barrel provides a balanced sight radius and improved velocity over shorter carbine variants, while the gray laminate stock adds dimensional stability in varying humidity and temperature conditions. This is a production-grade firearm intended for service use, not a safe queen.

Overview

The Rossi R92 traces its lineage to the Winchester 1892 action, a proven design known for smooth cycling and robust lockup. This modern production model incorporates a gray laminate stock for enhanced durability and a corrosion-resistant blued finish. The 20-inch barrel length strikes a practical compromise between maneuverability and ballistic performance, making the rossi r92 carbine 357 magnum rifle with 20 inch barrel and gray laminate stock suitable for both field carry and stationary target work. The tubular magazine holds up to 10 rounds of .357 Magnum or 11 rounds of .38 Special, giving you ample capacity for extended sessions without frequent reloads.

Features & Specs

• Chambered in .357 Magnum with .38 Special compatibility for versatile ammunition selection
• 20-inch round barrel with a 1:30 twist rate, optimized for standard .357 and .38 loads
• Gray laminate stock with a straight-grip design and recoil pad for reduced felt recoil
• Blued steel receiver and barrel with a traditional buckhorn rear sight and brass bead front sight
• 10-round tubular magazine (11 rounds with .38 Special) with a loading gate on the right side of the receiver

The action uses a forged steel receiver with a two-piece bolt locked by a vertical sliding block. The lever throw is short and positive, allowing rapid follow-up shots without excessive hand movement. Overall length measures 36 inches with an unloaded weight of approximately 5.8 pounds, making the rossi r92 carbine 357 magnum rifle with 20 inch barrel and gray laminate stock a lightweight option for carrying through brush or on horseback. The gray laminate stock is treated with a matte finish to reduce glare and resist moisture absorption.

Who It's For

This rifle is designed for the practical shooter who needs a reliable lever-action for medium-game hunting at typical woods ranges, recreational plinking, or cowboy action shooting. The .357 Magnum chambering provides sufficient energy for deer-sized game inside 100 yards when using appropriate factory loads, while .38 Special practice ammunition keeps training costs manageable. The gray laminate stock appeals to shooters who prefer synthetic-like durability with a traditional aesthetic. If your use case requires a lightweight, fast-handling carbine that feeds both magnum and standard pressure cartridges without adjustment, the rossi r92 carbine 357 magnum rifle with 20 inch barrel and gray laminate stock is a straightforward choice.

• Hunters targeting whitetail deer or hogs under 100 yards with .357 Magnum hunting loads
• Recreational shooters who want a single firearm capable of firing both .38 Special and .357 Magnum
• Lever-action enthusiasts who prefer the reduced recoil and faster cycling of a 20-inch barrel

The rifle includes a manual safety and a half-cock hammer position for carry safety. No optics are included, but the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base if you prefer a red dot or low-power variable optic over the factory iron sights. The stock length of pull is 13.5 inches, suitable for most adult shooters without modification.
