CZ DUTY 4.0 F

Most of what we sell in November is a deer rifle or a duck gun, but a lot of Faulkner County households also want one good handgun, and the CZ DUTY 4.0 is a strong new option. It is a striker-fired 9x19mm with a 4-inch barrel, a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame and a serialized internal chassis. The slide is cut for a direct-mount red dot and keeps fixed iron sights.

There are four versions. The C compact carries 15+1 rounds, the F full-size 17+1, and both go up by two with the extended base plate. Add MS to the name and you get a manual thumb safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. For a truck gun on the drive from Conway to Stuttgart, a nightstand pistol in Heber Springs or Batesville, or a carry gun around Little Rock, the 5.6-pound SFDA trigger and 1.3-inch width make it easy to live with.

Full-size means 17+1 rounds, a grip that takes the whole hand and a frame 5.6 in (143 mm) high. With the longer base plate the count goes to 19+1. Empty weight is 27.7 oz (780 g), which soaks up recoil without making the gun heavy on a belt.

There is no manual thumb safety on this model. Drop safety comes from the firing pin block, the trigger safety and the trigger-bar safety, the way most modern striker-fired pistols are set up. If you want a frame-mounted lever, the MS version has one.

What is new under the slide is the registered modular chassis. The serial number lives on the internal chassis, not on the polymer grip, so the grip frame is a part you can change while the gun stays the same gun. Around it CZ put a reworked SFDA striker trigger, rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) with a 0.16 in (4 mm) reset and 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) of travel, and a slide cut for direct-mount optics. CZ's own photos show it wearing Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield optics.

Best fit: the belt, the bedside and the range; the version to buy if you rarely need to hide the gun. Shooters coming from a CZ 75 will recognize the grip angle; owners coming from any other striker gun will notice the trigger first.

Arkansas has no permit to purchase and no waiting period, so your dealer runs the background check at pickup and you leave with the gun. Ammo, steel shot and gear ship to your door. Price and stock get confirmed live as you order, before payment.
