Most of what we sell in November is a deer rifle or a duck gun, but a lot of Faulkner County households also want one good handgun, and the CZ DUTY 4.0 is a strong new option. It is a striker-fired 9x19mm with a 4-inch barrel, a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame and a serialized internal chassis. The slide is cut for a direct-mount red dot and keeps fixed iron sights.
There are four versions. The C compact carries 15+1 rounds, the F full-size 17+1, and both go up by two with the extended base plate. Add MS to the name and you get a manual thumb safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. For a truck gun on the drive from Conway to Stuttgart, a nightstand pistol in Heber Springs or Batesville, or a carry gun around Little Rock, the 5.6-pound SFDA trigger and 1.3-inch width make it easy to live with.
Three things define the DUTY 4.0. First, a registered modular chassis: the registered part is inside, the grip frame around it is modular. Second, the trigger, a striker SFDA rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs), 0.16 in (4 mm) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel, which is short and repeatable for a service pistol. Third, a direct-mount optics-ready slide, shown by CZ with Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots fitted, so a optic sits low without a stack of plates.
Capacity on the short-grip is 15+1, with a 17+1 option through the longer base plate. Height is 5.3 in (135 mm) and the empty weight 27.2 oz (770 g). If you carry, this is the DUTY to look at; if you mostly shoot at the range, see the F.
The MS model carries a frame-mounted manual thumb safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger-bar safety. Everything else, chassis, trigger, slide and optics cut, is the same as the version without the lever.
Best fit: daily carry, a bedside gun that also rides along, and new owners who want one pistol for everything. Shooters coming from a CZ 75 will recognize the grip angle; owners coming from any other striker gun will notice the trigger first.
Add the DUTY 4.0 to your cart and name the Arkansas dealer you want it shipped to. Arkansas has no permit to purchase and no waiting period, so your dealer runs the background check at pickup and you leave with the gun. Ammo, steel shot and gear ship to your door. Price and stock get confirmed live as you order, before payment.
Questions buyers ask: Do I need a permit to buy a handgun in Arkansas? No. Arkansas has no permit to purchase and no waiting period; the background check happens at your dealer when you collect the pistol. What does the MS version add? A manual thumb safety. The standard DUTY 4.0 already has a firing pin block, a trigger safety and a trigger bar safety; MS adds a lever you can flick on for a truck or nightstand gun. What does MS mean on the CZ DUTY 4.0 C MS? Manual safety. It adds a frame-mounted lever to the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger-bar safety that every DUTY has.
